OMBAC Ruling Clarification:

OMBAC's ruling on wooden bats specifies they must be "Official Softball" or "Official Little League" bats. No bat can be painted over by the owner to cover any manufacturer's engraving, imprinting or lettering. The manufacturer's imprinting must be legible/visible. Buying a pre-painted bat from the manufacturer is perfectly acceptable.

WHY SUPERIOR MAPLE?

Superior Bats has invested in state-of-the-art technology to make the best maple bats available, but that’s only a small part in making a professional-quality, custom maple baseball bat uniquely suited to each individual player. Each step in making a Superior Bat is designed and monitored to ensure only the best bats make it into the players’ hands.

WOOD QUALITY

There are a variety of different species of both hard and soft maple. Professional-quality maple bats are made with either hard sugar or black maple. Superior Bats are only made with hard sugar maple, the hardest maple.

QUALITY CONTROL

Each and every Superior Bat is made from only the best sugar maple trees. The tree then goes through our specialized, state-of-the-art drying process to ensure continuity and integrity and is then inspected to guarantee the high quality of each bat. From turning to carefully staining and laser engraving, every Superior Bat that leaves our facility has been hand-inspected and approved.

WHY MAPLE?

Quality maple baseball bats are the smart choice for practice and game play. Stronger and more durable than ash bats, maple bats are also a safer alternative to many of the aluminum bats on the market.

Maple is harder than ash, which makes it a more solid choice for a wood bat. While maple was nearly discarded as an option for baseball bats because of its weight and lengthy drying time, advances in technology have made maple bats a viable option. Because of its dense grain, the denting and chafing from repeated use is minimal on maple bats. The less durable ash bats suffer severe damage from the same repeated use, making maple a more desirable and cost effective alternative to ash. When a maple bat and baseball connect, the player can immediately feel whether it was a good hit or not. There’s nothing like the sound and feel of a baseball connecting with the sweet spot on a maple bat. A good-quality maple bat looks, feels and performs better, longer.
