OTLPA Rain Out Policy

Although it seldom happens, as you know, we have had a rain-out occasionally. We had one on the Saturday of the Divisionals Tourney 2004. This reminded us that we sometimes take things for granted and forget to remind people of standard policy that's been going on for years now. It just doesn't happen to us often, so we forget. Or you are new, and don't know!

When this happens we do the next best thing, and carry over any unfinished games to the next day, or if that doesn't work, to another date. We cannot cancel a tourney and give back entry fees. The reason being is because we still have city permits, porta-jon, give-away expenses, etc. that we've already paid for to make a tourney happen, regardless of the weather.

In the old days, when we've had a ton of teams playing, tourneys ALWAYS were two-day tourneys. Lately, we've gotten spoiled by trying to finish them in one day, to accommodate our life's other busy schedules. But on occasion, we have to fall back on Plan B when Mother Nature strikes. OMBAC or TicketMaster would not refund you your money for not showing up for the make-up date. This is all the MORE reason to PRE-APP so that you at least get your top-notch tourney gift! We don't give out junk. For example, the denim shirts that we gave out at the Divisionals Tournament were $45 each retail on the outside alone! (Our hats, bags, t-shirts are always top quality, and usually more than 3-color, for example also.) So always pre-app! It guarantees you your participant's gift and it gets the TOURNEYS STARTED EARLIER!

Rain Out Policy - If it rains so heavily on Saturday that we have to cancel the tourney events for the day, it will be continued the very next day on Sunday. If weather also does not permit continuance of the tourney on that Sunday, we will choose another date to finish. This will be posted at the Bracket Board, and announced online on this website. If you miss the Bracket Board announcement, it would be in your best interests to be pro-active and look it up on our OTLPA website, or to contact your Tourney Director. No refunds of entry fees will be given.
